Rated 1 out of 5 by from Chips very easily I usually love Essie's polishes and coat couture is a beautiful color but even with two coats, several nails were chipped within a day. I tried it again with a top coat to seal in the color but this causes the polish to lose it's matte finish.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Many Compliments! I was initially attracted to the color itself, when I saw it was a matte I was wary but purchased anyway - so glad I did! Goes on beautifully, very opaque and true to bottle color (maybe a little darker.) Read these reviews first & was aware of "chipping" issues so only used 2 light coats (and base) and sadly, it's chipped after two days. However, I've been doing a lot of work with my hands so I'm not disappointed. I plan to buy the Essie matte topcoat, which I think will help exponentially. Until then, I'm going to try using OPI's "BondAid" as a base for the next mani. If all else fails, a thick coat of Seche will retain the color (but lose the matte finish, which I find is an attention-getter!) I will definitely be buying some more of these matte colors!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from terrible wear I applied this yesterday afternoon, using a 3rd coat of the color as a top coat as suggested on the website. As of this morning, 4 nails were chipped, and as I work today big strips are scraping off. It's as if I painted my nails with a thin layer of chalk. Essie is and has been my favorite nail polish for years (bring back Backgammon Bronze, please!), and this matte color is really not worthy of the Essie name.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful Colour! When Essie came out with this collection, I was intrigued and went out and bought all of the polishes. This is the first of the 6 that I have tried and I have a few thoughts. There is no doubt about the colour; it is absolutely gorgeous worn both matte and shiny (I personally prefer the latter). However the formula wasn't that great. The polish was fully opaque in 2-3 coats (it was very streaky) and it dried down so quickly that it didn't have time to level out on my nail, leaving some nails looking bumpy/clumpy, even after topcoat. Overall though, I knew what I signed up for when I purchased a polish with a matte formula, and I know that I'll just have to be a little more careful with my application. I am no where near disappointed with the product at all and I look forward to making use out of the rest of the collection

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely Fab!! Just tried this color after a Spa pedicure and I am in love. It really gives you the best of both worlds if you are a lover blues and purples. Most importantly, you are a person that likes to use multiple colors this is perfect because it had a hint of red, gold, green in the shimmer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mixed feelings I just tried it tonight on my toes and I like it... But I wasn't expecting the blue tones to be so evident. I did put a matte top coat over it, just because I did see the "chipping" review. I wish I had the Essie brand matte coat, but I can't find it anywhere :(

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Chips Easily I absolutely LOVE this colour, but it chips very easily. I've had it chip within hours of painting my nails. Definitely not worth the money.
