Amazing results if you're a chronic nail biter

I normally don't leave reviews, but I had to write one for this nail strengthener. For context, I have been a chronic nail biter my entire life, and this year I finally decided to change that. I bought this product a few months ago, but was not constant in using it. However, I decided to try it again and this time made sure to follow a consistent pattern: two coats every three days (+ cuticle butter every night). And after almost two weeks, I was shocked to see that it did make my nails look healthier. The first picture was taken April 2nd and the second was April 14th, same camera in the same lighting (although idk if the camera readjusts to your surroundings, I do think my fingers look a little pinker) but still, I could notice how much smoother my nails looked. I only painted my nails once in between this time which lasted 5 days, but every other day was just my bare nails + the strengthener. So I would say that if your nails are in rough shape, this definitely helps in restoring them! (also the slight stain on my nails was from nail polish, not the strengthener)

Great at first, then makes your actual nails peel

I was in love with this the first time I tried it a few weeks ago. It felt like it really hardened and protected my nails and I managed to get them to a longer length than u usually do without any breaks or tears. It would only last a few days, but I'd clean my nails and reapply. But now, my nails are peeling! I have never had this issue in my life before, and nothing else in my routine has changed. I'm going polish free and taking extra care of them for the next wee while. So disappointing for a product that showed such promise but clearly has something wrong with its formula.

Overall fine, turned orange

Overall a fine product, my nails were pretty damaged so I wasn't expecting this to magically fix them, but it did help cover my peeling nail tips. Nothing to write home about. The only unfortunate thing was that after maybe a year it turned orange, hence turning my nails orange when I used it. Don't know if it was just too old or what, but it's just something to note. Wouldn't buy it again but wouldn't advise people against it.

Not good!

One star because the pink color is nice, but the product itself is not good. It’s extremely brittle so even with more than the two coats they recommend it chips off in a day. I tried doing a coat a day for 7 days, it still flakes off within a day, and also hasn’t made my nails any stronger. Won’t be finishing the bottle!

I just use it as a base without nail polish. i like the natural pink colour that it gives. however nails turn almost yellowy after weaing it. Alos i cannot get it off my nails..

Turned yellow!

My first bottle of this was great! Used it to the last drop. I brought a second bottle (which was stored in my dresser drawer away from heat, humidity, and sunlight and the whole bottle has turned a yellow-orange color! Not sure if this is safe to use. Disappointed that I wasted my hard earned money on this!

Question About How to Use

I've been using this product for about 2 months now. I was really impressed the first several times I used it. My nails seemed stronger and I like the subtle pink glow it provided. But my last few uses have left my nails thicker but also more likely to peel off in layers and with more ridges. I'm wondering if, on my three off days, it's recommended to lightly buff my nails to eliminate the ridges and hopefully some of the peeling.

Though I love the shine, that’s all this product can offer. After less than 24 hours of having it on the polish peels off. I used the product for a week, reapplying every time it would peel off. I did not see any improvement to my nails fragile condition. What a waste of time and money.

No change in nails

All seemed ok with it but I didn’t notice any difference in my nails after using it, and only it, for weeks. After leaving it on my desk (well out of sunlight) for a few weeks I went to try it again and noticed it had changed colors. Like other reviewers have noted it turned to an orange/yellow color. I’ll toss this bottle, not worth the money or chancing it now that it’s changed colors.

I only used this nail strengthener a few times and this is my second bottle this happened with. After a few weeks of using this just a few times I wanted to use it again and got the bottle and I noticed the product had turned from pink to yellow. Very strange and of course I am not going to use it again. I think the product went off only after a few uses.

The best I've tried

I'm a hard-core Nail biter from way back.... for years and years at my worst my nail were bitten down to the base. I have been able to stop for two years plus now, and grow them out long. But they ALWAYS break. I went through stress recently and they all broke and got terrible. I've tried multiple different hardener. They do not compare to this essie hard to resist. It is by far the best. It drys super quick. No formaldehyde. Does NOT chip. Sorting my nutrients helped my nails as well but this polish was a huge factor in breakage prevention!!!! Please see attached photos.

Liked at first, but not anymore

I’ve been using this product for about a month. At first, my nails look so healthy, but this stuff chips incredibly fast, also, after a month, I’ve noticed that my nails have started peeling, which they never did before. It seems like this stuff may actually be making my nails more brittle, since I haven’t made any other changes to my routine.

I tried this after deciding to remove my acrylics after 30+ years of wearing them! My nails feel strong and healthy and I am so glad that I found this product. Looks like a pink jelly sheer polish

I got this from Ulta as a sample for purchasing some polishes and I thought this was more a base. Two coats look like a very thin sheer pink and protects the nails well. I’m on my second day so I’ll either remove tomorrow night or keep it on as a basecoat and do a mani on top of it. I think I’ll be buying a full bottle.

I really like how this looks. It’s nice and simple to protect my prone to break nails but no matter what I do it peels off the next day basically in one big strip. I have a uv light to dry my nails but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

Peeled right off

This didn’t even last a day on my nails. Painted at 6pm. By 8 the next morning, it was peeling off my nails- like in one or two large pieces. It didn’t adhere at all- and I had clean dry nails before applying.

Chips off after 2 days

I bought this product with the goal of strengthening my nails after a few Shellac sessions, and I saw some positive blog reviews about it.
Unfortunately I find that the product chips off 2 days after application. - my nail tips are still weak & break easily, so I will have to wait for the nail to grow out.
The pink tint is nice, but it is not the reason why I got it. Yet another nail strengthener that is a glorified top coat. Disappointing.

Have Healthy nails again!

I'm a stay at home mom, so between housework and kids my nails take a beating and I don't treat them right so I'm always trying to find something to help keep my nails from breaking - especially after doing the dishes or mopping the floors. This stuff is just magical! Within one use my nails looked and felt better, and after using it alone for about two weeks, once or twice a week, I haven't broken a nail yet since. I'm surprised on how fast it worked, and how healthy they look now. They're not only stronger, they *look* better. I will never use another hardener again!

I always look for polishes that will help strengthen and protect my nails. The glow & shine polish by Essie doesn't last very long without chipping. Definitely less than a week. I like how it gives shine to my nails but I don't like that it gives them a pink tint.

After 3 days: nails are less brittle and appear healthy, smooth with natural shine. Re apply as needed.

Almost feels like gel

I really liked this polish! It went on great, no bubbles or streaky lines. The light tint of pink does show but it isn’t overbearing. Went on thick and evenly and with the two coats I put on it almost had a gel polish effect to it because it made my nails feel strong. My only complaint is after 1 shower and 1 round of dishes it started to chip on the edges. I don’t hold much judgment there because most polishes I’ve found this problem and I may just need to find a better prep routine for a resolution

Not a big change

My nails always seem to peel off in layers and it is really annoying. I was hoping this would help from my nails becoming to thin to be able to grow them out just a little. I painted this on, which is very pretty and smooth. The shine and consistency to the polish is very nicely. But after only a couple of hours it was peeling off and nothing had changed. I cook for a living so in constantly washing my hands and I know that doesnt help with keeping nail polish long lasting, but this was such a short time I dont deep it was able to do much. Tried it again, but got the same peeling results by the end of the first 24 hours.
