- At first sign of nail break, snag, or tear, carefully move break back in place to connect the nail. Apply a thin layer of Break Fix to the nail break, snag, or tear concentrating between the crack. Using tweezers or a toothpick, gently press the broken nail together as the formula dries. Allow to dry completely. Apply a 2nd thin layer, and 3rd if needed. Saved my nails more than once

I didn’t realize how much I’d use this until I started having my nails grow. I’ve always had problems with nail strength so once they get to a certain length they crack or snag so this came in handy for those times. The formula is easy to apply, goes on clear, dries quickly and adds a layer of protection without feeling thick or bulky before adding nail polish. This is a product you don’t think about needing until you do and it works great. Definitely worth keeping around if you’re prone to nail breaks

I like the small size for easy on the go storage. The wand is doe footed which makes it easy for precision application. It also dries fairly fast, even with multiple coats. I have thinner nails so I had high hopes as my nails always rip and snag. I work with my hands as well but nothing heavy duty. It only lasted me an hour of actual hand use which was pretty disappointing. It doesn’t have a very strong hold. I wouldn’t use again or recommend

Does Not Work for Vertical Nail Splits

This product does not work for repairing a vertical split that extends back into the nail bed. I followed the directions carefully, but it failed to hold or provide any real support. Save your money—you're better off going to a professional or using a strong nail glue instead.

This stuff saves me on the daily lol! My nails are always cracking and I always get a tear right down the side of my nail where it's just too low to cut off.. I used to have to cut them all short and just put a bandaid on that nail but this stuff actually works well for me! It brushes on easily, dries clear, and reinforces the weak broken spot so it doesn’t catch or split more.. so I'm able to keep my length and just paint right over it - no weird texture or lifting. If you’re prone to breaks like me, this is a must-have for your nail kit. Really impressed!

Tiny Patch, Big Save

I've used the Essie Break Fix lLquid nail polish patch on a few separate nail breaks now, and it genuinely saved me every time. It holds small to moderate cracks together for a few solid days - long enough for the nail to grow out instead of forcing me to cut everything short. For me, that's huge because when a nail breaks, I usually end up picking it down to nothing. This stops that spiral completely and actually let my nails recover.
It works especially well on those annoying edge cracks and the little layered splits that always snag on things. The tiny brush makes it easy to target just the break, and it dries fast with a smooth, shiny finish. No stickiness, no rough texture, and it disappears under polish. I get the best results when I use a primer first, and I've learned not to press too hard with the brush - it feels like it could snap if you do.
Once it sets, the nail feels sealed and protected instead of fragile. After a few successful saves, this has officially earned a permanent spot in my emergency nail kit.

I was hopeful tgat this product would save my break until it grew out, but it is lt lasted a few hours. If you dont mind reapplying a few tunes throughout the day, it might be able to save the nail. I like that it dries down quickly and has a nice smooth finish.

Quick fix for nails.

This has really come in handy. I have some side breaks. I applied this, then applied nails wraps. It really did help keep my nails intact. I didn’t want to cut them just yet, so this gives me a little more time. The brush is small enough, where you can also apply under the nail. Dries pretty fast, and doesn’t smell too strong.

Idk maybe this break was too far gone but it didn’t hold more than an hour. Probably would work better for someone with thicker nails though. Pretty easy to apply and would come off easily if need be.

Stronger nails

Since I’m a mother I don’t have so much time to make my nails in a beauty salon, sometimes it breaks and it’s difficult to keep it long and strong, but with this break fix I can continue with my nails longer and stronger than ever, it helps me to keep on point my nails even if it are broken.

Easy fix for natural nails

This is good for my nails because I get little breaks in them while at work sometimes. It didn't take much to cover the areas and give it a few days to look better than before. Doesn't feel sticky but has a nice shine that looks good on my natural nails. A little goes a long way and it really helped my nails stay chip free.

Good overall and dries fast

Definitely leaves your nails feeling stronger, and it lasts really well. Similar products sometimes lift soon after application. It also dries really fast.
I did try to apply to one of my husband’s broken nails, and it didn’t quite work as a patch on his break. But it was a bad one, so it might work better for less difficult breaks.

Repaired slices nail

The brush was shorter and smaller allowing a more precise application. I am notorious for slicing my nail since I work with boxes at work. This helped bond my nail and prevent the nail from losing a layer on the top of my nail. It did a great job repairing and it was a shiny finish.

Superglue basically but easier!

This is a decent product that has definitely saved me from a painfully short nail trim a time or two. The product itself feels very much like superglue but the tiny brush makes it very easy to apply right where you need it. I have successfully managed to keep it off my skin so I can’t say how similar it is to superglue in that aspect but it does a good job repairing cracked nails. It doesn’t seem to have a lot of longevity especially when doing things like washing dishes so it will need to be reapplied to continuously be effective. Overall though - I’d recommend!

Not very helpful. It advertises that it’s supposed to repair broken nails, yet I tried to use this three times over the last month to repair ripped & torn fingernails and within two days, they broke off again. But, it did dry fast, brush was nice, and the smell wasn’t too bad, so I’m giving two stars.

This product is great as a clear OR to help with brittle broken nails. Coverage is great and a little goes a long way. Easy to remove with your standard polish remover. Does have a strong scent but nothing out of the ordinary for a clear coat/nail fix. It is thin so be mindful when you are applying. Overall would recommend.

I love Essie. They're by far my favorite nail polish brand. However, this product kind of stumped me.
At first, I thought it was supposed to like magically heal your split nail, which I was like yeah right, not possible. Then I read what it's actually supposed to do, which is just as impossible-sounding. It's supposed to create a seal on a broken fingernail for up to 5 days. I honestly don't understand why you would patch up a broken nail for 5 days. I would personally just clip it off, because it would drive me crazy, but I guess I can think of a few instances, such as if you were out and needed to get through one night; if you've got fake nails, I guess that would work until you saw your nail stylist, and I really can't think of any other uses.
I will say that I tried it on a nail that was kind of chipping. It wasn't split or anything, but I have regular nails, and they don't break in half. They're not strong, but they don't break in half. IDK it's a weird product IMO, but I can definitely see it being used by girlies with fake nails to use until they see their nail stylist! Either way, it's kind of a cool concept, but still confusing. Lol. I still love you, Essie! ❤️

This Essie break fix liquid nail patch is pretty good to repair a quick broken nail, however it doesn’t strength it so you would need a strengthener to work with it . However you can’t see it h der nail polish and don’t apply too many coats of the fixer because it will be a thick look if you do. Overall very nice

This break fix liquid nail patch from Essie is a really good add-on to any at home nail kit. Once my nails grow past a certain point, I’m always breaking one. I didn’t get a chance to really fully use it on a big broken nail. But it seems to be easy enough to use. Thin layer then gentle press together at the break. Then another layer for reassurance.

i’m very experienced with using nail glue and nail polish. I think that this nail glue takes a really long time to dry. I do see the point of it because it kind of builds a layer similar to how UV gel builder does. however, I personally don’t like this product. I think that it didn’t work for my nails very well and ended up smearing. I don’t like how long it takes to dry. But it is nail polish at the same time so- maybe it’s a ME problem

I tried this nail repair stuff for free in exchange for an honest review. On the day after I applied it to the broken side of my nail, it was no longer working. I used a couple coats like the directions said to, and it just isn’t effective. I wouldn’t recommend it to a friend. I think using nail polish is just as effective if not more so than this.

I wasn’t sure I’d be able to use this right away but then my nail tore. I patched it up according to the instructions, but it just didn’t hold. I tried again and i got the same result. I wish it had worked better. It dried pretty fast probably because it’s so thin. I think that might be the issue.
