Was Excited For The Color But Chipped Right Away!

I am a long-time user of Essie products and was very excited to use this blue Butler Please. I had seen other reviews on-line about how other users had problems with it chipping right away, but had no concerns. Until I used it. I applied it and even used a Top Coat. However within just a couple hours of normal activity, it was already chipping off. Super bummed out because I love the color but can't trust that it will stay on for any length of time. (Even with a Top Coat.)

Beautiful color but chips within 12 hours of wearing. Constantly having to touch up. Requires a complete repaint within two days.

The bluest blue

Just how BLUE this is caught me off guard – I was not ready for such intense fingernails and had to relegate it to my toes until I was ready. So deep, so lush! It can be a little difficult to apply since it wants to get clumpy, but it’s easy to learn to work with.

I have maybe 20 different essie colors, this one is different than all the others. It starts to dry so quickly that it is difficult to work with. The leveling of the polish is terrible. The color is a bold blue, that i find flattering. Unfortunately it also smells far worse than any other polish. Huge disappointment. I Wish I could return this polish.

I am obsessed with this vibrant, blue color. These are my nails after taking out my retainer, typing all day, and a gym session. So far, there is minimal chipping (preventable, and not due to the nail polish itself). Application of the polish is easy, and it flows onto the nail so smoothly and evenly. Essie is my go-to nail polish brand, and once again I am very happy with my purchase. Thank you!!! (:

Something changed

This color was great in the past. Bought a new bottle, starts drying before I even finish one nail, it gets clumpy and then starts chipping immediately.
Bought about her bottle thinking something was wrong with the last one, but same thing happened.
Essie, I think you need to look into what changed with this color.

I couldn't find this color in the brand I usually use so decided to try this. At first, I was very disappointed because it chipped so badly. I didn't want to give up on it because of the price so I ended up buying Essie's all-in-one base coat and top coat and it has made a huge difference! No more chipping!

I am used to good quality nails from essie but i have painted my nails 3X with this color and each time it has chipped in 1 day. I am cleaning my nails and doing the appropriate top coat.

Wish it didn’t chip

Ugh it’s annoying because I like so much about it: the color is really pretty and it’s a nice opaque formula, so there aren’t issues with streaking or a need for 10 coats. My issue is that it literally starts chipping off within couple of hours. And look I know how to apply nail polish to prevent chipping, my nails are always painted and I go through the whole process of cleaning the nail and using a basecoat & topcoat. This formula definitely chips faster than other colors. Just isn’t worth the trouble of doing my nails for a few hours of wear, which is disappointing.

just used this for the first time after my husband gifted it to me. it is almost like it is matte because before i can even cost the nail it’s partially dried and clumpy. don’t usually have this problem with essie products so this was disappointing because i love the color.

Hi there Ann! That would be disappointing, especially when you're not accustomed to using neon based pigments. The nail enamel shade "butler please" was originally launched as part of a neon shade collection. Neon pigments always dry in a matte or semi matte finish. Once you apply your top coat like "gel-setter" or "no chip ahead", your finished mani will have lots of brilliant shine. Of course, like all our nail enamels, the color should flow effortlessly onto the nail bed and by the second coat, your color should be flawless.

I can not tell you hot much i love this color. Blue is my go to color and this my favorite color I've ever owned. You really don't need more then one coat for full color coverage. I get complements on this color every time I where it!

I love this polish it's the perfect blue shade for my complexion and the consistency is great. Applys nicely in two coats for a even full coverage . At one point I thought this was limited edition so I got a second never been a real fan of a anil color till I found this gem!.

Beautiful Shade

I bought this product today, and it's such a beautiful shade of blue. It's not too bright that its unwearable but it brings a pop of color to your nails that I love. It's a bit of a muted blue so if you have a more natural taste this will be the perfect blue for you.
