Poor Formula, Difficult Application, Nice Color

The formula is so incredibly difficult to work with. It comes out streaky, with dark spots along the nail. You have to barely float the brush just right, otherwise, you are left with an uneven application.
I paint my nails regularly and I am a huge Essie fan. I have at least 42 bottles at this point in time, after cycling through old ones. I am actually surprised this color has such a poor formula and application because I noticed decline in my bottles only after repeated used (usually due to thickening).
I will say, the color is beautiful. If you have the time to meticulously paint extremely thin coats, and slowly do so, then, maybe it would be worth it. You'd just have to love this color. I'd say, you could find a better minty/green/shimmer formula than this though. It is a cross between a pale blue, with a tinge of mint, subtle green tone, with a hint of green/blue/seafoam iridescent.

Pastel and minty shimmers are notoriously tricky to formulate, and this shade can indeed be prone to streakiness and dragging without a very careful "floating" technique. This is a great springtime color! It has just the right amount of shimmer which I love. I just needed to swipe on two coats and a topcoat and I was good to go!

Bought this a while back and definitely needs 3 coats of polish for it to look good! You could get away with 2 coats but I recommend 3 coats for sure.

I thought this polish would be more sparkly on my nails but unless you look closely irl it looks like a crème finish. It is still a very beautiful and unique polish.

Very sheer polish, never dried

I’m a huge fan of Essie products normally but this polish did not live up to the Essie name. It’s a beautiful color so I was super excited to try it out for my birthday but I needed so many coats and it never fully dried. I ended up completely removing it with polish remover

The color "seas the day" should be a mint sorbet nail polish with a subtle pearl finish. Like all our colors, by the second coat, your color should be perfect. Once all the layers, base coat, 2 coats of color and a top coat are applied it should not take longer for all of your mani to dry. it’s too thin

I second an earlier review: the polish is too thin. Sheer polish is one thing, But it looks terrible when sheer. The formula is just so thin that it pools in your cuticles and looks uneven with a coat or two. I saw Essie reply and say 2 coats would do the job, But I promise you it won’t. Even with three or four coats, it still looks uneven in places. It’s a shame because it’s a gorgeous color!
