essie bordeaux: lovely burgundy shade perfect for fall/winter, but I didn’t like the formula at all.. too sheer: even after 3 coats it remained uneven, they should definitely reformulate

Lovely color, but doesn't apply well

I adore this simple wine, but I found it tends to apply unevenly and streak compared to other essie polishes, even with a well-shaken bottle and multiple coats. This isn't a major issue; the streaking is still more minor than other polishes I've used and is only noticeable on my thumbnails. The formula is otherwise sturdy and lovely as always, even if my nails grow to quickly to appreciate it.

I was looking for a deep bloody red polish and there it goes. First layer is more like pinky rosy red but second layer start to show that chic wine red! And the color turns more opaque and deeper the longer after polishing. I am a hardcore nail biter but I hold back the urge of biting for a week after my nails are done cuz the color is so pretty!!

I first put this on 6 days ago and there are no hints of any chips. A lot of the time I find that Essie polishes start to chip after 4 or so days, but not this time. I used three layers, and decided not to add a top layer to get a proper idea of its lasting power. A gorgeous color for this time of year, looks so chic. Had been salivating over this color for MONTHS, and so thrilled I picked it up.

Lately, I have found myself wanting a gorgeous deep reds for fall, and this colour has satisfied this wish. This colour is such a nice, consistent and completely opaque nail polish. It is very easy to put on. In fact, I only needed one coat-I did however apply two, only because I felt generous. I also received lots of compliments, especially when a matte coat is applied on top!! I may just keep it on forever.

I have had my eye on this color for a while, but I couldn't decide if it would really match my personality. When I saw that "Marsala" was the Pantone color of the year, I knew that I should go ahead and invest in this color; I'm so glad I did! This color is simply stunning! It is the perfect shade of burgundy mixed with brick red; it's not so dark that it will get mistaken for black, but it's not an obvious red, either. It complements very pale skin like mine very well. I'm a big fan of Essie's "Wicked," and I feel like this is "Wicked" about four shades lighter. I bought this color during a cold snap in March, and now I'm a little sad that I probably won't be able to wear it again until fall. Seriously, you must get this color! It is one of those colors that you can put on and instantly feel elegant.
